COD fans are going to learn a lot more about the latest game in the Call of Duty franchise next month.
A community event is being held by Activision to help celebrate the release of the new Treyarch project.
There will also be big news on Black Ops 4 itself, so expect new gameplay details and story reveals.
We also know where the big reveal will take place, thanks to UK retailer GAME.
GAME posted new information in regards to winning tickets to the event online, which has been confirmed as being held in LA.
A tweet from the company confirms: “Want to go on the trip of a lifetime to see the reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 in LA?
“Pre-order the anticipated shooter at GAME before the 26th of April and you could win a pair of tickets to the event, as well as flights and accommodation!”
If the official Black Ops 4 event is being held in LA, it means that any new trailers or live streams could arrive quite late in the UK.
LA is eight hours behind the UK, so fans will have to keep their fingers-crossed for an early afternoon launch.
More is likely to be confirmed about the event in the coming week, so it will be worth keeping an eye on the official COD social channels.
There are hopes that a Nintendo Switch port could be announced during the community event, although Activision have not said anything on the subject.
There are also hopes that the Modern Warfare 2 Remastered project will be featured, if it hasn’t already been announced.
One of the first major pieces of evidence to suggest a MW2 Remastered port was being released this year came in the form of a retail listing.
Spotted on Amazon, the listing included a release date of April 31, so there’s still hope of a surprise announcement in the coming weeks.
There’s also the big chance that the listing – for PS4 and Xbox One platforms – only included a placeholder date, with the real date yet to be announced.
And while we already know that MW2 Remastered is being released in 2018, it looks like it will be missing key features.
Media sources have confirmed that while Modern Warfare 2 Remastered is real and in development, it won’t have a multiplayer mode, something fans have picked up on straight away.
This would suggest that Activision are looking to a campaign release only in 2018, which will surprise a lot of people.
It should be noted that there has been no official comment made by Activision on the subject, although two separate sources have confirmed this news now.
Another report suggests that Raven Software is not working on the new remaster project.
