The official Nintendo of America Twitter account teased fans about the upcoming Nindies showcase ahead of it starting.

They tweeted: “Get a look at some of the hottest indie games coming to #NintendoSwitch in our new #Nindies Showcase Summer 2018 video presentation!”

The news comes after the Nintendo Switch rumour mill was recently set abuzz by claims an upgraded Switch console was in the works for next year.

This was shared by video games journalist Marcus Sellars on Twitter, where a list of alleged stats was posted.

This included the new console having 8GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage and dynamic scaling up to 4K.

It was also reported by Sellars that select third-party games might be released on the upgraded console, but not on the older models.

However, all Nintendo produced games would launch on both, according to the alleged details posted.

These rumours sent fans into meltdown, but the tweets from Sellars were later pulled down.

He then tweeted: “For undisclosed reasons have decided to take down the previous tweet and all other tweets regarding the topic.”

One of those who tweeted to dispel these Nintendo Switch Pro rumours was IGN co-founder Peer Schneider.

He tweeted at Sellars: “Hey Marcus — just saw this. That’s totally made-up. Don’t trust or repeat everything you hear.”
