Evan Yardley is relishing the ‘physical challenge’ that awaits RGC as the North Walians get back to action on Friday.

After a weekend off due to the international calendar, RGC travel to Cardiff on Friday night in the Premiership.

Friday’s game is a chance for the Gogs to pick up another win on the road in front of the Scrum V cameras, the last time they featured on BBC Two Wales Mark Jones’ side claimed a 32-18 win at Sardis Road over Pontypridd.

This corresponding fixture also featured on television last season when RGC impressed in the 61-24 victory in the capital on Easter Monday.

The man of the match on that day was Yardley and he knows only too well that another performance is needed by his side.

“We knew every game was going to be hard this year,” Yardley told the region’s official website.

“As we have found out in the beginning part of season if we are not playing to our best then it will be hard to pick to up points.

“As a group we need to be at our very best against Cardiff as they are on a good run of games.

“It’s going to be a physical challenge but one we are all looking forward to.”

Cardiff are four points clear of RGC in the league, sitting in fifth place and boasting a five game unbeaten run.

Last time out RGC got back to winning ways with the win against Bargoed, and will be looking to close the gap on the top six, especially with two home games to follow this month against Bedwas (Friday, November 16) and Llanelli (Friday, November 23).
